Known for her dedication and hard work in her music ministry, Delores Boone has devoted her life to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. God placed a special calling on her life at the age of eleven years old when she gave her heart to Him. God poured out a special anointing and talent at the age of five years old when she began playing the piano. She would sit for hours beside her dad as he played his guitar and she played her little toy piano. The family sang along in their little quaint home in Fries, Virginia along the New River.
Being raised in the Pentecostal Holiness denomination, Delores, her sister, Phyllis and brother, Ronnie experienced the reality of the Holy Spirit and the mighty power of God. Their dad, Rev. Alex Gravley and their mother, Helen Gravley, were a powerful team for the Lord as they evangelized across Southwest Virginia with their musical family. Her parents have now made their journey home to Heaven and the wonderful glory that awaits.
Delores has spent most of her music ministry in gospel groups, The New Creations, Damascus Road, and the Singing Gravleys. She still sings with The Singing Gravleys, consisting of her brother, sister and herself, along with their wonderful musicians, Brandon Davis (lead acoustic guitar), Gary Davis (bass guitar), Bubby Mabe (rhythm acoustic guitar) and Ralph Boone (mandolin). Delores plays keyboard.
In 2006, Delores was approached by a friend in Christ, Jerry Stone, to go to TBN in Hendersonville, Tennessee to record a solo project at Trinity Music City. The project was produced as "On the Right Road" as an independent project. Inlight Records in Hendersonville, Tennessee picked up the project and re-produced the project as "Mercy's Way" and is now being played nationwide on Compellation Disc 101 from Inlight Records.
Singing both southern gospel and contemporary music, it's worth your effort to make your way to a concert where Delores is in ministry. You won't be disappointed.
